Dos Buratinos is a musical project from Urals region of Russia, founded in Perm city in 2005 by Ruslan Tagirov (now lives in Yekaterinburg) and Eugene Gorbunoff (still lives in Perm). Currently we perform live, work on debut album and write new songs. Come back here from time to time for more info.
Why DOS and why BURATINOS?
DOS means TWO in Spanish. BURATINO = Burrattino, also Burattino or Burratino, is a character from the old Italian Commedia dell'arte. Nowadays Burattino means wooden puppet or doll in Italian.
In Russia Buratino is well-known as main character of the tale book 'The Golden Key, or the Adventures of Buratino' (1936) by Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy, which based on the 1883 novel 'The Adventures of Pinocchio' by Carlo Collodi.
The title DOS BURATINOS came to mind because this is a project of two producers and musicians Ruslan and Eugene, who felt themselves like 'burattinos', like the puppets directed by only their own will, not by Karabas Barabas (aka Mangiafuoco). This is a kind of metaphor to the modern music scene, where many people are only puppets in someone's hands.
Despite coming and leaving of other members, they decided to leave the band's name as 'dos', since Ruslan and Eugene are core members of the project.
From 2010 DB are: Ruslan Tagirov on vocals, keyboards, laptop, groovebox, studio, Eugene Gorbunoff on keyboards, laptop, fx, studio, Alexey Zakharoff on saxophones.
Now we are finishing debut album which will be entitled 'Sunset'
